Early Welsh oak corner cabinet

£1,650.00

A most unusual oak corner cabinet of rare early form. Panel and glazed door retaining the original escutcheon and iron hinges, the shelved interior has been dry scraped back to the original green/black paintwork. The surface patina is superb and graduates from dark earth tones to nut brown, the proportions are extremely pleasant to the eye with a low waist to the door.

The condition is good with original backboards and shelves, two of the glass panels are cracked but as they are the original hand blown glass I have left them alone, there is a small notch cut out of the cornice which probably allowed for a ceiling beam. A lovely original piece of Welsh furniture in a rare form.

Height 199 cm ( 78.1/2”)
