early C17th cupboard
A beautifully proportioned oak cupboard. A pair of linenfold panelled top doors open to shelved interior, the single bottom door with a plain panel, panelled sides and a planked back. Original hinges to the doors, standing on stile feet. Lovely honeyed biscuit colour, an extremely attractive piece.
There are a few restorations as expected for a piece of this antiquity, the back has had two fillets put in to deal with shrinkage of the back boards, the bottom boards and interior shelves have been replaced, all have been done with period oak and using hand cut nails.
