Primitive form tavern table

£2,350.00

A sculptural small tavern table of primitive form. Cleated oak plank top with ash legs and sub-structure. Primitive furniture can be very difficult to tie down to a tight time frame due to it’s simplicity of design and utilitarian nature, however the cleated top and hand cut nailed construction with no use of screws suggests an earlier than usual date for this piece. It has a fine patina and aside from some historic woodworm damage to the top is in good original condition

English. 1720 - 1800

Height 63.5 cm ( 25”)

Width 72.5 cm ( 28 1/2”)

Depth 47 cm (18 1/2’)
