Unusual C17th chest of drawers
A most unusual oak chest of four drawers dating to the late seventeenth century. In two parts with geometric moulding to the drawers in the shape of stars. Side hung drawers, the carcass is of panelled construction which, along with being in two parts makes it easy to manoeuvre difficult winder staircases as it is very light with the drawers removed. The original stile feet appear to have lost no height and one original lock is present. The handles are later period correct replacements and are of a generous size. It has a good rich colour and fine patina. The drawers run well and the piece is in good serviceable condition.
